Philosophy
Minopex operations are committed to creating and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.
Company objectives are to:
- Manage risk by means of recognised methods that identify hazards and eliminate or control the associated risk.
- Develop a climate conducive to continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
- Perform medical examinations and surveillance of employees and keep records with the objective of early detection and treatment of occupational diseases.
- Practice occupational hygiene to protect employees from the adverse effects of physical, ergonomic, biological and chemical hazards.
- Provide effective health and safety training to all employees and instill the principles that all accidents are preventable and that safety is the responsibility of everyone.
- Encourage all employees to participate in decision-making concerning health and safety matters through their elected representatives by providing the opportunity to attend regular meetings.
- Set aside time for formal meetings to determine and review health and safety policies.
- Take into account the health and safety of persons who are not employees, but who may be directly affected by processing activities.
- Allow access to the highest level of management by any employee on matters of health and safety if satisfaction is not obtained at successive levels of supervision and management.
- Inform employees of health and safety policies by the display of documents from time to time and through health and safety representatives and supervisors.
- Keep copies of documents concerning health and safety where all employees have access to them during normal working hours.
- Encourage off-the-job safety (don’t drink and drive, obey traffic rules and regulations, speed kills, pedestrian safety, safety in the home).
