Elands Platinum Mine is situated on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex, 12 km east of Brits in the North West Province. The contract, which commenced in April 2007 with Eland Platinum Holdings, is for the operation and maintenance of the 250 000 tpm concentrator. Scope of work also includes management of the mine’s lab facilities to provide quicker turn around and better control of overall plant operations. The concentrator plant features a standard MF2 circuit design with a chromite spiral plant for producing chromite by-products from the flotation tailings. It also features a primary 52 x 48 jaw crusher, and two 6,4 m diameter grinding mills.
